I want my work to evoke from the observer the same emotion I felt while painting. I Paint my landscapes in the open air, I work fast and furious to capture the scene in the short time allotted by the shifting sun. I push the limits of the colors and their vibrancy without getting caught up in the details. I strive to recreate the essence of the moment.
When creating an abstract I have little planned except to put my mood onto the canvas, and that’s what I do. If the painting reflects the way I feel I believe it’s a success.
When I see a great painting done by another, just for a second, it takes my breath away. I strive to make the same impact on others.
